DENVER (KDVR) — Denver International Airport and the City of Denver are looking to make several improvements to Peña Boulevard as the airport anticipates seeing 100 million passengers annually over the next 10 years.Peña Boulevard is the only road in and out of the airport, and it's so important things are running smoothly so those looking to catch their flights make it on time.Keep in mind, this road was built back in 1995. DIA now says the road does not meet current design standards. Peña Boulevard is just a little over 11 miles long. The road also connects to multiple Denver neighborhoods including Montbello, Green Valley Ranch and Gateway. A daring burglary shook a jewelry store in Southwest Miami-Dade after criminals executed a carefully orchestrated heist, leaving the store in chaos and the owner grappling with substantial losses.The incident took place at Ernie & The Cat Jewelry at 7249 Coral Way, Monday morning. The store owner, who asked to remain anonymous, was left in shock after receiving an early morning phone call. “That’s about it, they took everything. They took everything inside the case,” he said. New York (CNN) — A year after Democrats passed their sweeping $750 billion climate and health care law, it’s leading to a surge of clean energy projects and job creation, according to a recent Bank of America report.More than 270 new clean energy projects have been announced since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), with private investments totaling $132 billion, according to the report. (AP) — The mother of a 6-year-old who shot his teacher in Virginia pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of felony child neglect, seven months after her son used her handgun to critically wound the educator in a classroom full of students.Prosecutors agreed to drop the misdemeanor charge of reckless storage of a firearm against Deja Taylor. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors said they will not seek seek a sentence that is longer than state sentencing guidelines, which call for six months in jail or prison.Taylor was charged in April with felony child neglect and a misdemeanor count of recklessly storing of a firearm.The January shooting shocked the nation and roiled this shipbuilding city near the Chesapeake Bay. KENANSVILLE, Fla. No injuries reported after large tree crashes down, closes road in Newton

A side street in the center of Newton was closed to traffic after a large tree came down Tuesday morning, blocking the road after crashing into a nearby driveway.Power was cut for several homes after the tree fell across Beaumont Avenue and took down multiple power lines as well as a telephone pole in the process.The Newton Fire Department was called to the area sometime before 10 a.m. to survey the scene. Officials told 7NEWS it was possible excess rain had saturated the ground surrounding the now-uprooted tree, setting the stage for it to come crashing down.No injuries were reported, but an SUV parked across the street appeared to take some damage.Officials have not yet said when they believe the tree will be removed.

Man accused of holding a woman in a cinder block ‘dungeon’ in his Oregon home has pleaded not guilty

(CNN) — A man accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her in a cinder block “dungeon” in his Oregon home has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and transportation with intent to engage in sexual activity, court documents show.Negasi Zuberi, 29, was ordered during a hearing Monday to remain in custody until his trial, which is scheduled for October 17, the documents show.Zuberi was taken into federal custody after a woman escaped from his Klamath Falls home last month, according to a news release from the FBI field office in Portland. The woman was kidnapped from Seattle and sexually assaulted before being placed in a “makeshift cell” in Zuberi’s garage, investigators said.Following Zuberi’s arrest, the FBI said it was looking for additional victims in other states.Zuberi has lived in at least 10 states since 2016 and has been linked to violent assaults in at least four, according to the FBI.
