BSO seeks help from public in locating 74-year-old man reported missing from Lauderdale Lakes

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit is seeking the public’s help in locating 74-year-old Lynford Edwards, who has been reported missing from Lauderdale Lakes.According to detectives, Edwards was last seen around 7 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, in the vicinity of the 2800 block of Somerset Drive. He was reportedly last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black boots.Described as weighing approximately 125 pounds and standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, Edwards is bald with brown eyes. According to authorities, his family said that he has health conditions requiring medication.Officials are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact BSO Detective Leonard Charla at 954-321-4274 or call the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).

Crews clean up fuel spill at Brickell’s ICON building

A fuel spill at a condo building in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood drew concerns from residents. The spill took place at ICON Brickell, located on Fourth Street and Brickell Avenue, Wednesday night. Firefighters said it was leaking from a generator. Crews were able to clean it all up.

Newly released video shows the moment a Medford woman’s leg got caught in an MBTA Green Line train door earlier this week. The incident happened on Monday. On Thursday Rebecca Mason shared her reaction after viewing surveillance video. “My leg was stuck and I was calling for help,” she said. Mason, 36, previously told 7NEWS she was helping her son get off the trolley at the Medford/Tufts stop when the doors closed on her. In a subsequent statement, the MBTA explained “preliminary findings suggest standard procedures were not correctly followed by the operator, which led to the doors shutting prematurely.”New video of the incident shows the trolley initially parked with its doors open. A Palm Beach County man was arrested this week after federal officials say he threatened to kill U.S House Rep. Eric Swalwell and his family, officials say.Michael Shapiro, 72, of Greenacres, is charged with making an interstate threatening communication after he left five threatening voicemails at the representative’s D.C office in late December, according to a criminal complaint.The complaint did not name Swalwell, a California representative who ran for president in 2020. Suspicious death in San Diego: Body found in freezer identified

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Police Department has released new details regarding a suspicious death investigation after a body was found in a freezer last month.The incident occurred on Friday, Dec. 22, when a family visiting from out-of-town discovered a deceased person inside a chest freezer at a residence on the 4900 block of Zion Avenue in Allied Gardens. Three suspects sought in felony hit-and-run Based on the unusual location of the body, SDPD's Homicide Unit was called in to investigate. While working with the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, detectives have now identified the body as Mary Margaret Haxby-Jones. Haxby-Jones, who would have been 81-years-old, is believed to have lived at the residence at some point before her death, SDPD explained.
